From 701-704 during the emperss Wu Zetian`s reign she had the pagoda rebuilt into a tower-like seven storied brick pogoda, which has been kept as it is until now. Standing 64 meters high the pogoda is in a square conical shape with its bottom measuring 25 meters on all four sides and the length of platform 45 meters for each side.
